Perry Noble
Tyndale House Publishers 2016
“Do we really need another book on leadership," you ask? Not so fast. This is a bit different. It’s the first leadership book I’ve read based on 1 Corinthians 13, which many people think of only for weddings. It's a countercultural style of leadership. Perry Noble shows us how to lead with love, patience, kindness, etc. He also discusses things we should not be as leaders, such as envious, boastful, selfish, prideful, etc.
The best take away for me may have been the seven differences between coaches and critics in chapter 9.
Another valuable list in the book is in chapter 14, where Perry discusses nine filters to use whenever we're faced with a difficult decision.
I highly recommend this inspiring, wisdom-filled book, even if you think you don’t need to read another book on leadership. And don’t skip the forward by John Maxwell and the introduction by the author. They’re filled with good nuggets too.
Tynadale House Publishers has provided a complimentary copy of this book for review.
