New Children's Book Review

Your Magnificent Chooser

This is a wonderful children's book for teaching children that they have a mind and will--with which they can choose their attitude, their mood, what they say,  how they act and react, etc.  The fun rhyming verse and darling illustrations keep children's attention.  The book closes by reminding them that they can pray to God for wisdom to help them make the best choices.

At the beginning of the book is a note to parents from the author.  I would say the book is geared to 3-8 year old children.

This is a wonderful engaging children's book to tell the story of Noah and the Ark. The repetition catches the children's attention and they start to repeat out loud the parts they know. The illustrations are colorful and adorable. I read this book to my 6 and 9-year old grandchildren and they loved it.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher for review purposes.

Book Review

The Magnolia Story
By Chip & Joanna Gaines
Thomas Nelson
2016
Reviewed by Diane Busch

If you know who Chip and Joanna Gaines are, then you have to read or listen to this book!  They both read the audiobook and it's so real - so them!

Their story is amazing!  If I liked them before I love them now.  Through all the years, the ups and the downs, they have trusted God and He has been their guide.  Joanna is the level-headed organized planner and Chip is the fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants impulsive business man, salesman, builder, whatever. The two of them together make it work, but it's a marvel that their marriage works and their business together works. Pink and blue really do make purple.

They are talented and smart and industrious and very hard workers.  They are loving parents to four children besides all they do with their shop, their home building, renovating, and flipping houses.  It's amazing!  And ironically as much as we all know them from their television show, they don't own a t.v.

This book is delightful and challenging. Go get it today - you will not be disappointed!  (The center of the hardcover book has family photos through the years, and the end of the audiobook includes some live audio from a production meeting).
